Over Flow

Whose voice is speaking

What words do you hear

What is writ upon the wind

What water can you hold

    in a closed fist

I can't make out the words

The oceans over flows

Divination

Blue begins to emerge 

from the blanket of ash 

that has covered the sky

There is much to know

There is much to wonder

There is much to fear

Simply gazing at the sky

Divine the tarot

Read the ocean waves

Gaze into the iris

All signs point to 

midnight run

I was running

I was being chased

My heart was pounding

I could feel it behind me

I keep moving 

I kept going down the stairs

Floor by floor

trying to get to safety

until at last I woke up

and began to steady myself

to let my breath guide me back

These Days Are

Listen

This time is so brief

Briefer than we can imagine

Briefer than we will believe

Don't be afraid

Be fearless in thought

and action

We only ever come

this way once

Take in the sights

Feel the warmth 

of a summer day

See the green 

spring forth

from dead branches

Watch the ocean

from the shore

Make those you love smile

Oh these days

these days are for living

these days are falling leaves

scattering on the ground

Do you curse the deep cold of Winter

Do you you curse the heat of Summer

What will make you happy?

and be content within it?
