I wear it so easily

Dreams torn apart
rearranged
such strange beasts

Reaching for a hand
Finding it
Holding it
Asking where is
the destination

Primitive beneathe our civilization
Proud creatures of the Earth
Have we forgotten our nature

Restless sleep in summer heat
Whirring fan
Open window
Restless people of a burning city

A bud blooming
Fiery red
Unruly flower
What can be done
Memory and shadow
A haunted image

Words tossed
and left
Create meaning
from nothing

images of the body
beauty within
how does one recognize
what burns in the soul

chords struck and comp
on the piano
notes glisten down
a glissando run

heaven makes itself known
behind closed eyes
passion of the moment
breathing to the beat

to witness beauty
is to know beauty forever
beyond body and into
this shifting world

your eyes are the sun
and the moon and I
can only look upon you
in pure adoration

I have found the eternal
in these fleeting moments
and I will remember for all
