Mid-November

afternoons fade sooner

than I would like 

pastels smear

across clouds

this is worth 

the change

Early October

Is it Fall on this October Morning

Or is Summer extending her stay?

I don't complain. I let the sun in

to my heart, onto my skin.

Is it warm where you are as well?

I wish it to be so for you.

Let us sit and wonder 

I'd rather dwell in uncertainty

On Mornings

A season of impending Winter
Brooding mornings
Waiting for sunlight
How long must we wait
beneathe the ashen sky

Your naked body covered
by thin sheets
I hear you breathe quietly
in perfect stillness of morning
I cannot sleep again
So I sit and listen
rather than wake you

An empty nest in the branches
of the tree No fluttering wings
back and forth to this former home
Mother and chicks since departed

Another day
Another night
How easy it is
How difficult it is
to face it all once again

Season of Harvest

Winter's chill beckons
Dead leaves like fallen bodies
Hairs stand on your neck

If everything that rises 

must converge

can it be said that 

everything that descends

must come apart?

summer flowers bloom
when will fall winds come to pass
ask the moon tonight

Lurking Killer

Slipping in the shower

Landing on my back

I laugh and

Wonder how long

The shower has been

Planning this attack

Spring is fading fast
Summer's warmth is beckoning
Fall wanders nearby

Now I fall

with determined

inevitability.
