Let the leaves fall from the tree
Landing gently on the ground
Growing in multitudes as the days
shorten in the Fall

Consecrate yourself to yourself
Consecrate your actions
Consecrate your thoughts
Consecrate what nourishes you

Begin today.
You are here.
You are now.
This is your life.
This is yours to change
or maintain.
This life is yours
to mold into the vision
of what you most desire.
Be passionate.
Be persistent.
Be consistent.
Liberate yourself
from what clouds
your mind and body.
Reach beyond yourself.
Reach into yourself.
Reach into spaces
known and unseen.

This world will cloud your mind
This world will cloud your judgement
Focus on what matters
Focus on now
Your struggle is yours alone
Steel yourself
Reach for the ideal

Do not accept the easy answers from yourself.
Accept the upward path.
Ascend.

a path to better

I'm trying to take better care of myself these days
and I hope that you are too.
I've been sleeping much better than I have
in many months
Most of that is probably due to my complete
lack of drinking
I'm ok with that change
I'm fine saying no to a drink
I just feel better about myself
I've even begun to lost some weight
I've been playing more music and
I've been writing more
I wake up feeling rested
instead of half dead
Why had I been doing to myself
what I had been doing to myself
for so long?
No good answer
but that isn't where I am now
For that I can be glad

Let these days of Winter end Let us emerge in Spring
Let love rule Let us be the better selves we have always
known ourselves to be Let compassion reign Let us do
away with fear Let us live with greater understanding
Let us do away with our vice and weakness Let us live
more fully Let us love all women and men Let us look
upon each other as family Let us recognize the brevity
of everything Let us forgive Let us be the ones we need
Let us live in peace Let us not merely pray but act upon
the need for good deeds in this world Let us never cast
judgement without cause Let us bathe under the sun and
reclaim youth and vitality Let us grow freer and stronger
with each good deed Let us never succumb to darkness
Let us guide each other through the long nights of Winter
and it's frigid mornings Let us marvel at the first blooms
of Spring and drink deeply from the flowers of the field
Let us never forget the lessons we learn and remind our
selves of Let us be kind Let us be gentle Let us be strong
Let us be all things in alternating measure Let us be true
to the goodness of our nature Let us sing with one voice
Let us drown the darkness Let us embrace the moment
Let us marry the possibilities of the present Let us ascend
to a point from which all becomes clear Let us not create
new gods to worship Let us embrace nature Let us marvel
at the tides Let us rejoice in ritual through the forests Let us
bask in the warm stillness of the desert Let us dream under
the stars guiding us now and forever Let our hands touch
Let our lips meet Let love grow Let us be a better union
of humanity Let us pray in our own ways to someone or
no one at all Let us be the peace strength and compassion
we wish to see grow Let us join together Let us be Let us
