Mantra

You are the water
You are the dust
You are the heavens

I am the water
I am the dust
I am the heavens

I am the water
You are the water
I am the dust
You are the dust
I am the heavens
You are the heavens

You are the water
You are the dust
You are the heavens

Empties

Empty liquor bottles gather dust
sitting on the floor.
Soldiers without purpose
Life's blood drained and gone
So why do they remain
A silent testament
to night's of half-bred thoughts
and delusions
to cauterize the weight
of each day that had passed
Buried above ground
until they are tossed into
a heap and their bodies
shatter into shards

A Harvest of Dust

Gathering Dust

Gathering the dust
                              of your ashes
you cover my hands

My tears find themselves within you

              Forgiveness

I could never ask that of you

Aching knees

Feet refuse to keep me standing

Ache of years

Mind
          weighted and
                                sink
                                      ing
No one will find me here

Alone
           together

To an end

living dust

beauty can't last forever
don't deny time it's victory

into the arms of death
into the passing
of everything

we are living dust

The End of Fecundity

Soil dried to dust

Scattered by wind

Red handkerchief tied
About your nose and mouth

Clouded air swirls like
Dervishes around you

You walk towards the cabin

In the distance

Barren arms of a tree

Skeletal roots
Drying out in the sun

Standing in the doorway

Watching emptiness
consume everything
Season of dust
