This Morning's Rain
Waking from the dream
Pitter-patter sounds of
falling water
drift into my ears
Unexpected grey
blankets the morning sky
Today is here
like always
Now
is the time
It always is
Pitter-patter sounds of
falling water
drift into my ears
Unexpected grey
blankets the morning sky
Today is here
like always
Now

Between Now and Eternity
The space between now and eternity
Can best be measured as the length
Of an ordinary human life. I am here.
This cannot last. This will not last.
Illusion of endless time aided by a life
Of comfort free from primal hardship.
See beyond the ordinary. Laugh at
This expression of the mundane
Passed off as profound wisdom.
The ordinary will keep you from
Searching. It will bind you to the
Chair from which you are reading this.
How we react to the tension between
Extremes will define us.

Monument to Now
This life
What other life is there
This time
What other time is there
Moving in silence as though
sound were a thing to be ashamed of
Summers of endless heat
Winters of endless cold
Springs of waking
Falls of fading life
There can only ever be
this moment
Hear these words
out loud
or spoken in your mind
This moment
is what matters most
Eternally now
Now
Here
You
Me
Us
Now
Only
Now
What other life is there
This time
What other time is there
Moving in silence as though

Summers of endless heat

And here
And now
And when
And if
And maybe
And possibility
And probability
And unlikeliness
And love
And fleetingness
And impermanence
And permanence
And illusion
And perspective
And wisdom
And laughter
And tears
And warmth
And coldness
And time
And passing
And knowing
And knowing
And realizing
And seeing
And it
And being
And ok
And it's
ok
And when
And if
And maybe
And possibility
And probability
And unlikeliness
And love
And fleetingness
And impermanence
And permanence
And illusion
And perspective
And wisdom
And laughter
And tears
And warmth
And coldness
And time
And passing
And knowing
And knowing
And realizing
And seeing
And it
And being
And ok
And it's
ok
Incarnation
Begin and end-
Simple enough to say.
End and begin-
Being and beginning
How many lives
are we destined for
on this world?
If I were not human
I would wish to be
a young sapling
growing steadily
in the ground.
I would relish the sun
and caresses of the wind.
I would drink thirstily
from my roots and
grow until I could
provide shade
beneathe my branches.
Music reaches my ears
as my hand rests upon my chin.
I think of something and
then nothing at all.
Simple enough to say.
End and begin-
Being and beginning
How many lives
are we destined for
on this world?
If I were not human
I would wish to be
a young sapling
growing steadily
in the ground.
I would relish the sun

A Call to Action
I am Here
and it is
Now.
This is the only fact
that matters.
You are Here
and it is
Now.
Act.
and it is
Now.
This is the only fact
that matters.
You are Here
and it is
Now.
Act.

For Now
I woke up and realized
everything is not as it should be.
I asked myself "When have things
been as they should?"
Perhaps the warm pancakes
at the diner a city over,
but that doesn't really count.
Everything could be
as it is meant to be, though,
our hearts may feel otherwise.
everything is not as it should be.
I asked myself "When have things
been as they should?"
Perhaps the warm pancakes
at the diner a city over,
but that doesn't really count.
Everything could be
as it is meant to be, though,
our hearts may feel otherwise.

finding now
I don't obsess about the past
the way I used to.
From time to time I think
of the things
I held dear
and those I still do.
The sharp pain is now
a dull ache that occasionally
marks the weather.
Things are fine.
They could be worse,
they have been-
let's not talk about that,
let's find now.
the way I used to.
From time to time I think
of the things
I held dear
and those I still do.
The sharp pain is now
a dull ache that occasionally
marks the weather.
Things are fine.
They could be worse,
they have been-
let's not talk about that,
let's find now.
