The Blank Page
The blank page is a promise
only you can fulfill.
It starts here with some words
The words needn't be anything
other than themselves.
There doesn't need to be
a special occasion
or greater purpose
they can just simply be
That is enough
That is all
I am thinking
of what I wish to say
but now I don't hesitate
I let the words speak
through me
as they have always done
Such a need
to do this
A small example
of hope
only you can fulfill.

words
the words
the words
the words
the words
are you letting them come
are you letting them go
the words
the words
the words
you worry so much about them
are you listening to yourself
the words
the words
the words
they are within you
are you bothering to listen
the words
the words
the words
are always here
are always within reach
the words
the words
the words
become the mantra on your lips
become the reason

Late Night Thoughts, Page 2 5/5//17
Memory filters back at it's own pace. How it surfaces
faces and times from the past. What lesson must be
taken and learned? Those answers are at hand if one
is willing to delve just beyond the surface of image and
memory. Joy and failure, the twin poles of life.
What is the truth of life I have been seeking? It had no
single answer. Many answers for the same question,
each fitting for a time and place. There is truth and
wisdom in this world if we are willing to seek and
accept it. This burning desire to understand the unknown
of the world and of ourselves. A thirsty spirit is always
seeking. Let us drink of this world.
Words are given more freely than wind. Action is a diamond
to be desired. The value of thought and contemplation.
Am I searching for God? Am I searching for enlightenment?
Am I searching for a better way to be human? Must the
answer be yes? Of course, it must. I am searching within
and in this world. I have to seek. I must seek. Suddenly
I remember staying at my grandparents home, watching
the sun set over the town of my fathers. Colors swirling
and melting until black streaks across the canvas.

Mother
She kept her words to herself
Because she could picture
No one better to keep them
Words grow stronger and bolder
Within her and soon
They begin to gather on her
Fingers and tongue
Grew impatient
and knew that soon enough
They would escape
and see the world
and meet other words
and ultimately
They would leave their Mother behind
So it was
Because she could picture
No one better to keep them
Words grow stronger and bolder

They begin to gather on her
Fingers and tongue
Grew impatient

Song Without Words
Don't worry about words
There are none for this song.
Open your mouth,
move your tongue
and lips.
Those will always be
the right ones
at the right time.
There are none for this song.
Open your mouth,
move your tongue
and lips.
Those will always be
the right ones
at the right time.

Use
These words are useless
They know nothing of life
They are tools without lives of their own
Blunt instruments-
That is what they are,
Exposing the strength of my thoughts
and the limits of what I currently am.
Perhaps, these words are more useful
than I had considered.
They know nothing of life
They are tools without lives of their own
Blunt instruments-
That is what they are,
Exposing the strength of my thoughts
and the limits of what I currently am.
Perhaps, these words are more useful

Useless to Use
My words are useless
and can find no way to stand
on their feet
so they crawl on hands
and knees
until they can push up
from the ground
coming together
in groups and pairs
unless they prefer to be alone
My words will find their purpose
and on that day
they will flow without punctuation
in a stream of continuous thought
until they exhaust themselves
and we can rest
When we rest
we will sleep and dream
together in bed
like lovers
on their first night together
