The sign says Pedestrians Prohibited
I walk past it
into the abandoned streets
of the forgotten town
I look back
and see you standing
on the boulevard
watching me from a distance
No wonder I didn't hear
your steps
I keep on walking
until I look and see you
walking away
Only then do I turn
to walk back
