like water
from hydrant
pouring into
the streets of the city
on a hot summer day
Nights and years
became a movie without end
Plunging deeper
into the work
into the drink
into anything
that kept me
from staying still
for too long
She is sleeping next to me
and I am here
remembering
writing
and knowing
there is no other place
I'd rather be
