The Eyes Have It

The Shortcomings of Language
Enchanting orbs

dance and flicker

back and forth.

Be they

Brown, Blue & Green

they dance and flicker delightfully.

Speaking a language they call their own,

immune to the constraints

of language and grammar,

purity in thought and expression.

You blush,

eyelashes flit

open and closed,

a slight tilt of the head,

a smile spreading

like the noon time sun.

This is the only language we need,

the only language worth anything.
