Voce

I found it sitting there

in the darkness of

the basement.


I descended the stair

case with flashlight

in hand.


Sitting in the chair,

it looked at it's watch

and said,


"I was wondering

when you would

find me."


I wasn't sure what

to say. The first words

out of my mouth were,


"I'm sorry if I kept you

waiting, I didn't know

you were on a schedule."


"Let's go," it said. It stood

up and followed me up the

stairs into the afternoon.
